Heidi Van Buskirk: completed her Master of Professional Science Degree (MPS) in Marine Conservation at the Rosenstiel School in Spring 2020. Her MPS project focused on enhancing digital communications strategies for NOAA's Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory in Miami, FL. Fabrizio Lepiz Conejo: Graduated from his undergraduate institution as a finance & economics double major and accumulated six years of financial industry experience before pivoting his career. He joined the Rosenstiel School as a Master of Professional Science (MPS) in Tropical Marine Ecosystem Management, transferred to the Master’s track, and later was provided the opportunity to join the Doctoral track with the Coral Reef Futures Lab. As a part of his PhD, he is focused on researching methods to bolster coral thermal tolerance and inshore coral resilience. Chelsea Begnaud: completed her Master of Professional Science (MPS) degree in Marine Conservation at the Rosenstiel School in August 2021. Her MPS project focused on investigating the challenges and barriers of science education and professional growth in public school science teachers in the United States. She is now a Sr. Program Manager in the MPS Office and can answer general questions on all Rosenstiel School programs. Kela McEntee: completed her Master of Professional Science Degree (MPS) in Marine Conservation at the Rosenstiel School in May 2021. Her MPS project focused on the effects of media exposure on public perceptions of sharks and shark conservation in the United States. Senior Program Managers Chelsea Begnaud, Kela McEntee, and Heidi Van Buskirk host virtual drop-in sessions for prospective and newly admitted students from 12:00 to 2:00 PM ET weekly during the spring semester.
